I love what I do. I am honored to have the privilege of being present with my clients, and strive to be a safe place that allows my clients to be vulnerable enough to grow. My hope is that, through our work, we find the ground they need to create other safe relationships, including the one they have with themselves.

One of the most valuable things I’ve ever learned about myself is just how deeply I respect the difficulty of the human experience. It’s complicated and messy and beautiful and painful and frighteningly unpredictable. I will meet you wherever you are in your humanness. Nothing you bring with you is too much, even if that’s something you’ve heard from others before.

I started my career-life as a middle school teacher. The voice that was pulling me toward work in a therapeutic setting continually grew louder until I finally responded in 2013. I earned a dual Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Couples & Family Counseling at the University of North Carolina – Greensboro and immediately began working with adolescents in crisis. That launched a professional focus on trauma and trauma-based experiences. I pursue trainings that enhances my knowledge and understanding of the impact of trauma on our humanness. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and an EMDR trained clinician (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I conduct my practice through a sex-positive lens and continually work to develop my abilities in serving communities who are marginalized and negatively impacted by systemic injustices.
